Studio Dress Code Policy

1. Objective

The objective of this policy is to ensure that all students attend classes in appropriate attire that promotes safety, comfort, and uniformity, and allows instructors to effectively assess and correct techniques.

2. Dress Code Rules by Class

  • Teen Ballet
    • Top: Black leotard
    • Bottom: Pink or skin-colored tights
    • Shoes: Pink or skin-colored ballet shoes
    • Hair: Tight bun
  • Kids Ballet
    • Top: Pink or skin-colored leotard
    • Bottom: Pink or skin-colored tights
    • Shoes: Pink or skin-colored ballet shoes
    • Hair: Tight bun
  • Jazz
    • Top: Shirts with sleeves covering their shoulders
    • Bottom: Leggings, joggers, yoga pants, biker shorts, etc.
    • Shoes: Bare feet; as they get more advanced, foot gloves are recommended
    • Hair: Securely tied back out of face
  • Acrodance
    • Top: Leotard for girls (fitted tank only for boys). ABSOLUTELY NO BAGGY CLOTHING ALLOWED

3. Exceptions and Adaptations

  • Medical Conditions: Students with medical conditions requiring adaptations to the dress code must present a doctor’s note. Adaptations will be made to ensure the student’s safety and comfort.
  • Special Events: For performances, competitions, and other special events, additional specific attire may be required, which will be communicated in advance.

4. Compliance

  • First Warning: Students not complying with the dress code will receive a verbal warning and will be asked to adhere to the policy in the next class.
  • Second Warning: If non-compliance continues, a written notification will be sent to the student’s parents or guardians.
  • Further Consequences: Persistent non-compliance with the dress code may result in temporary exclusion from classes until the policy is followed.

5. Communication

  • Policy Distribution: This policy will be communicated to all students and their families at the beginning of each academic year and will be available on the studio’s website.
  • Updates: Any changes to the dress code policy will be communicated in writing with one month’s notice prior to implementation.
