Colorado New Style Foundation is looking for experienced, energetic, and dependable Dance Instructors / Teaching Artists to teach dance classes for students ages 3 and up.

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children and teens, communicates well with students and families, and can create a positive, structured, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  •  Teach engaging dance classes in your designated style
  • Prepare age-appropriate lessons and class plans
  • Explain and demonstrate proper dance technique
  • Create choreography for performances, showcases, and events
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Support student retention by helping students feel welcomed, included, and motivated

ABOUT COLORADO NEW STYLE FOUNDATION

Colorado New Style Foundation is a community-centered dance organization serving students, families, and the Metro-Denver community through dance education, cultural connection, youth development, adult programming, performances, showcases, and community-based initiatives. Our work is rooted in creating a welcoming, organized, and professional environment where students and families feel supported, informed, and connected. As our programs continue to grow, strong daily operations and clear communication are essential to helping the studio run smoothly and serving our community well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach dance classes in the assigned style or styles
  •  Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons
  • Explain and demonstrate proper dance technique
  • Create choreography for presentations, performances, showcases, and events
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, program directors, and studio leadership
  • Help new students feel welcomed, included, and supported
  • Work with the team to support student retention and a positive studio experience
TEACHING & CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
  • Teach students ages 3 and up, with a strong focus on children and teens
  • Create a structured, inclusive, healthy, and safe learning environment
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with studio expectations and class-based procedures
  • Nurture each student and support their growth, confidence, and potential
  • Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and clear instruction
  • Adapt teaching style based on age, level, and student needs
STUDENT EXPERIENCE & MENTORSHIP
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students
  • Build student confidence, discipline, and love for dance
  • Be sensitive to students’ emotional needs and learning differences
  • Foster respect, teamwork, cultural connection, and CNSF core values
  • Help students feel seen, welcomed, and motivated to continue learning
PERFORMANCES & EVENTS
  • Create appropriate choreography for student presentations and performances
  • Assist with internal and external performances when requested
  • Support showcases, studio events, and program initiatives
  • Attend and assist at student performances as assigned
  • Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to support successful events
PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS
  • Demonstrate a pleasant, energetic, organized, and professional presence
  • Maintain high standards of work, conduct, and communication

  • Participate in staff meetings and support studio-wide initiatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree, professional dance training, teaching certification, or equivalent experience
  • At least two years of practical dance teaching experience
  • Experience teaching children and teens ages 3–17
  • Experience teaching adults is a plus
  • Experience in Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Latin dance, or related styles
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • English and Spanish strongly preferred
CERTIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Current background check, or willingness to complete one
  • Current First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to apply first aid as needed
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Ability to follow CNSF procedures, values, and expectations
POSITION DETAILS
  • In-person position in the Metro-Denver area
  • Part-time schedule based on class and program needs
  • Afternoon, evening, and/or Saturday availability may be required
  • Reports to the Program Directors or designated supervisor
  • Compensation based on experience, qualifications, class type, and program needs
